It was a fairly quiet week this week, we had a busy week helping some friends move houses, which meant they stayed with us for a couple of days in between houses…
…I knitted a beanie…
…we had a roast dinner cooked for us by our seudo-housemates, and I began a love affair with this Sistine Chapel | gold, frankincense & myrrh | triple scented candle! It smells simply divine!
Anyone get up to anything cool this week?

My heart melts every time I look at this photo…I mean honestly. Too. CUTE!
I am in love with fluffy puppies, my puppy {read: 12 year old dog} is one and she is just the most adorable thing on the planet. She has a beautiful temperament, is cuddly and happy and just so gosh darn cute and puppy like.I miss having an animal-friend around the house, to have walk-in-the-park adventures with, to cuddle up with on the couch and I can’t wait until we can get our very own furry friend.

“Tell me, what do you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” ~ Mary Oliver
I plan to:
Love deeply.
Travel the world.
Cherish my children.
Read good books.
Never stop learning.
Chase happiness.
Get fit and healthy and stay that way.
Never stop reading.
Focus on the present.
Be grateful.
Overcome my fears.
Avoid becoming bitter and jaded.
What do you plan to do?

I believe that life is beautiful, even though there are bad things and good things about life, I am an eternal optimist. Although my life got pretty bumpy in places, I’ve been really lucky that I’ve not had a terrible childhood and sometimes I think I live in a big rose-coloured bubble.
Mostly I think it’s because that’s how I feel safe. I don’t think about the really bad things until I am exhausted and my mind decides it’s a great time to spiral downwards into the abyss, or they are right in my face. Having said that, sometimes I also coast along and don’t pay very much attention to the good things or the bad things in my life. It really annoys me sometimes!
This is me trying to make a more concerted effort to pay attention to all the things on my life {with a heavy focus on the good things} – so here are the top five things that make my life bright and beautiful this week:
- The way my house smells right now – a combination of Jasmine, Sandalwood and Raspberry {my new favourite Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh Sistine Chapel candle, I am in love thank you Em!}
- My morning Bosnian coffee. Our budget is really tight at the moment and I am really appreciating the taste, the smell, the warmth of my coffee every day.
- Snuggles with Dan at bed time. He is busting his guts out right now working massive overtime hours on his freelance business, but he always makes time to come and give me cuddles while I fall asleep every night before getting up again to keep working. He is such a sweetie, and I am such a lucky girl!
- Hot showers and electric blankets in the lead up to my first Melbourne winter. The weather turned cold all of a sudden this week and it is freezing. It’s been raining too this week, I miss the sunshine!
- This week we have some house guests and I love having them here. They are like family, we three are all sitting in a row on my couch being complete geeks/nerds. It’s companionable silence, we are just happy knowing the other is there, there is no need to talk. I think it’s one of the things I am most looking forward to in having puppies and kittens and children, is to have a little bit more noise and companionship, to hear the pitter patter of paws on the floor and to have someone else to talk to {or talk at in any case}.
What makes your life bright and beautiful this week?
