Life’s Little Wisdom #45

“Happiness is not having what you want…it’s wanting what you have.” ~Anon

I fall prey to consumerism a lot.  More-more-more-more seems to be what everyone wants these days, and because I am a planner, and I make plans for the future {including the things I want to buy when I get there} I have to admit, sometimes all I hear myself saying is more-more-more-more.

I am always forgetting to slow down, to stop thinking about the future, the things we don’t have now and the things I want for us in the future, instead of focusing on all the things I have.  We had a few unexpected bills this week, and our budget is so super tight that all the things we want are being pushed further and further into the future.  So this week, I am trying to remember to be happy and grateful for what I have, to know that I am lucky to have them and that I am not lacking in anything.  Present-me will catch up with Future-me eventually and have all the things we dream of, but until now I am happy.

My life is beautiful and full of love.

What is your wisdom for this week?  If you are playing along, join up with me and leave a link to your blog’s label/tag/post in the Linky widget below :)

Have a happy weekend!  I am going to be sleeping, reading, catching up with some friends and my favourite TV shows.
